Geography

Elsweyr is a harsh area of badlands and dry plains. Only near the southern reaches does the soil turn fertile, and the whole of this region is covered in jungle and rainforests, with sugarcane groves clustering against the two main river basins.

The Tenmar Forest is a forest in southern Elsweyr, the native habitat of moon-sugar. Humans are traditionally forbidden from trespassing in the forest. The Topal Sea is a bay enclosed by the borders of Elsweyr, Cyrodiil, and Black Marsh, and is said to contain “crystallized moonlight” that is brought to the sugarcane groves of the Tenmar Forest by the force of the twin tides. The Quin’rawl peninsula is the southern peninsula in Elsweyr, on the Topal Bay. It hosts the massive port city of Senchal.

Northwestern Elsweyr is described as having “hills and steppes” (though this is likely a mistake by the PGE1 since this is in the Rimmen area, which is in the Northeast).

The Xylo River is a river that forms part of the traditional border between Elsweyr and Valenwood, and has historically changed hands between the Bosmer and Khajiit.
