Marshes of Mir

Surrounding the city of Mir Corrup and the caustic, boiling waters of Lake Canulus lie the wastelands and dead forests of the Marshes of Mir. The famous resort town of Mir Corrup was once the peaceful heart of high Nibenese culture during the Interregna, when the river-cities were fractured and involved in ceaseless war. A sudden uptick in the region's subterranean volcanic activity has undone the city's former greatness, poisoning the sacred baths and spas which were the city’s pride.  Nobles and courtiers have left the region, allowing their villas to sink into the marshes.
