Below is a list of factions present in Skyrim as of 3E 427.

Kingdoms

The Holds of Skyrim form the primary political units of the Province. Each Kingdom is led by a King or Queen, corresponds rougly to the de jure territory of a Hold, and has its own agenda and interests.

Notes:

  • While all nine Kingdoms are joinable, three - Haafinheim, Falkreath, and Winterhold - are mutually exclusive beyond their first few quests, on account of their role in the Main Quest.
  • Completing certain quests for some Kingdoms will result in ineligibility or ejection from other Kingdoms.

Imperial Factions

Imperial factions are present in Skyrim, as in the rest of the The Empire.

Factions Favored Attributes and Skills Notes
Blades
  • Joined automatically during the Main Quest.
  • The Blades are the elite intelligence network of Emperor Uriel VII Septim. They are not joinable in Skyrim, but members who have fulfilled their duties in Morrowind may find work to be done.
